New Underwriting Policy Administration System

At AIA NZ, we’re always looking for ways to enhance the tools and systems that support our customers and partners. That’s why we’ve invested in a major upgrade to our technology platform – moving from Salesforce Classic to Salesforce Lightning.

As part of this transformation, we’ve rebuilt our Optimised Policy Underwriting System (OPUS), which powers the processing of new applications. This upgrade means faster, more intuitive workflows, improved reliability, and a better overall experience for you and your clients.

It’s all part of our commitment to making it easier for you to do business – so we can make a greater difference together.
Why is AIA transitioning to Salesforce Lightning?

Salesforce Lightning is the recommended user interface in most cases.

It will enable AIA NZ to leverage new features, improve system integrations and introduce automated processes which are not available in Salesforce Classic.
What is changing for Advisers and Insurance Managers
  • For in-flight applications there will be no change
  • For new applications submitted from the 1 July onwards:
    • Reference numbers will change from Policy Admin (PA) to Policy Admin Number (PAN)
    • The Decision PDF:
      • Will include the offered total premium
      • Will be produced per individual policy. So, for cases where two policies are submitted under the same PAN there will be two PDF attachments. See example with changes highlighted
    • The Offer of Terms email, will be updated with more clarity regarding acceptance and expiry of terms
    • Going forward the application status shown in AIAHub will be the same as the Underwriting Policy Administration System for consistency

Do I need to change the way I submit applications?

No. You will continue to submit and track applications in the same way.
